As I’m adding and building to this site, one thing that I’ve done is post just about everything I’ve ever recorded up in the little music player to the left. From Blue Eyed Sun from 2001 to Generators in 2006. Currently what’s missing is Maximum Bob and Small Change. I’ll likely add them later.
Anyway, enjoy.
So finally, after MANY MANY months, we’ve got something to show. May I present the first song that’s ready for public consumption off the next collection. It’s not done yet (it likely won’t be done for a while) but this will give you a good idea of where I’m going with the new album.
Even better, this is essentially a Maximum Bob reunion. Bob and Dave are playing on this (and Tim Deibert from Sweetwood Groove). It’s been awesome to be working with those two again, now if we could only get Doug, and Jason (and maybe Mrva) for a tune or two…
A little background on the song. I wrote this during the summer of ’95 (yup, quite a while ago) but the song has evolved a fair amount over the years. There was this very cool area outside of State College, above Pine Grove Mills where you could head out on all of these logging roads. There was one spot that had been logged but with a lot of debris and all of the trees were de-barked (as opposed to disembarked) and were bleached white in the sun. It looked like a great big boneyard. Kind of creepy but kind of beautiful at the same time. It was a great place to just spend some time on your own, have a couple beers and think about how you could’ve done something different… Yeup, that’s the type of place you hang out at when everyone else is hanging out with a significant other.
ANYWAY… here’s the song! The Boneyard
